DX400 User GuidePrefaceWith many inheriting, or purchasing second hand WERSI instruments, I'm often asked for user guides. Although tempted to add flash movies, with a disembodied hand pushing stops, I have so far resisted. This guide is written for the DX400, although the principles are similar for all the DMS range, fewer functions for the DX350, more for the DX500. Note that various software and firmware upgrades, may mean some features don't work on your WERSI, the instrument may not be faulty. Below you'll find a somewhat flattened representation of the organ console. "Click" on any area of interest, for a detailed description, or use the Index below it. Please use your browsers "Back" button to return, or you may click to return to the index, as you follow other hyperlinks through the tutorials. |

Registrations.DMS VoicesThe instrument comes with 39 basic voices, which may be assigned to either the upper or lower manual or to the pedals. Voice ModificationEach DMS voice is split into two components. Channel 1: For the basic instrument waveform. Channel 2: For the harmonics (overtones) of the waveform Each component may be varied to produce different sounding instruments. Digital Voice CreatingNew DMS voices can be loaded from cassette or PC, or created by the mixing of other instrument components. WERSI also produced software for the Commodore 64 and later for the PC to enable the production of new voices to be done "off line". Total PresetsEnable you to store and recall the complete organ registration on a single preset. There are additional programming facilities to set the PC interface data rate and program the foot switches for different functions. Also to set up the M.I.D.I. Interface |
